A complete renovation of a 1928 apartment in central Helsinki, conceived as a place to nest within the city.
The apartment unfolds as a sequence of distinct atmospheres. Each room carries its own colour identity and spatial intensity, yet together they form a coherent whole. Movement through the space reveals contrast and continuity, while light and shadow continually reshape surfaces and depth.
All primary furniture pieces were designed specifically for the apartment and operate as architectural elements within it. Their forms and material weight hold subtle traces of different places and lived realities — fragments of story translated into colour, proportion and surface. Materials were selected for their ability to mature over time, allowing patina to become part of the expression rather than something to resist.
